COMPETITION OVERVIEW

Football South Australia is proud to host the 2026 5AA Football Five5 Summer Leagues, held at ServiceFM Stadium, Gepps Cross.

Football Five5 is a fast-paced and fun competition suitable for players of all experience levels.

Teams will play one fixture per week across the competition period.

SENIOR & MASTERS LEAGUES - 12 WEEKS

Monday Competition

Dates: 21 September - 7 December 2026

Available Group: Senior Men

Kick-off Times: 6:30pm, 7:20pm, 8:10pm

Wednesday Competition

Dates: 23 September - 9 December 2026

Available Groups: Senior Men; Senior Women; Senior Mixed; Masters (35+)

Kick-off Times: 6:30pm, 7:20pm, 8:10pm

Rules and Regulations

Competition Information

Groups and divisions may be adjusted depending on final registration numbers.

Teams will play a minimum of one fixture per week.

Finals format will be determined based on team numbers.

A canteen will be available at ServiceFM Stadium.

Senior Mixed teams must have a minimum of two female outfield players on the field at all times.

Team Requirements

Minimum team size: 5 players

Recommended squad size: 6–8 players

All players must wear; Appropriate artificial pitch footwear, Shin pads, Matching team shirts (except goalkeeper)

Match Format

Senior & Masters

2 x 20-minute halves

5-minute half-time breakJuniors

2 x 15-minute halves
5-minute half-time break

Competition Rules

No throw-ins or corner kicks.

Kick-offs are taken from the centre line.

Referees may use a three-bounce start where required.

Players may use all four walls during play.

Players may enter the goalkeeper area.

Unlimited interchange is permitted.

If the ball goes behind the goal net, play restarts with the goalkeeper.

The offside rule does not apply.

No pushing or bumping into walls.

If the ball leaves the pitch, play restarts with the opposing goalkeeper.

Serious foul play may result in a player being removed for the remainder of the fixture.

Repeated reckless or unsporting behaviour may result in further sanctions, possibly resulting in removal from the league.

Goalkeeper Rules

Goalkeepers must wear gloves.

Goalkeepers must wear a different coloured shirt from their team.

Goalkeepers may pass, throw or roll the ball out.

Goalkeepers cannot kick or drop-kick the ball directly from their hands.

Goalkeepers have 4 seconds to release the ball when in possession.

Back passes cannot be picked up by the goalkeeper.

Free Kicks & Penalties

All free kicks are indirect.

Opposing players must remain a minimum of 2 metres away.

Penalties are taken 1 metre from the centre of the goal line.

Penalty takers may only take one step before striking the ball.
